Hi,

I found a mirror at
http://riksun.riken.go.jp/archives/X11/ude/

but I do not know how recent the files are. I found ude mentioned in an article 
quiet some time ago, ude.org was working then, and installed it on alinux 
system I had handy then. If my imagination is not too wrong, it was quiet 
speedy and it seemed to become an ideal alternative, specialy for less 
performant machines. I hope the developement of ude will continue.
