This is a little puzzling to me... If you take a look at the file
sys/dev/pcmcia/if_ne_pcmcia.c, you can clearly see that the SMC EZCard
is listed in the device table for that driver (line 297 of ver. 1.60 of
that file, which is from NetBSD 1.4X).

That version of NetBSD are you attempting to use on your system?
