Does NetBSD/i386 1.4.1 support the thinwire (10base2) port on DEC
EtherWORKS DE205 combo netword cards (AUI+Thinwire+Twisted-pair)?
If so, is there any special magic needed?
I have several Digital Etherworks DE205 ISA combo
(AUI/Twisted-Pair/Thinwire) network cards. All work normally under
Win32. NetBSD/i386 1.4.1 sees them and lets me set them up for AUI
and twisted-pair. I get the following error when I try to set the
thinwire port:
# ifconfig lc0 media 10base2
ifconfig: SIOCSIFMEDIA: Device not configured
I get the same response for BNC and thinwire, connected or
disconnected. Autoselect goes for the AUI (10base5) port.
Hardstrapping the DE205 to the thinwire port does not help. Any
suggestions besides buying a hub and running twisted-pair?
Many thanks!
PS - DE203/204/205 cards need to be set to port 0x320
in order to be seen by the GENERIC kernel, contrary to
what the install docs say.
