etc does install very fast, as it is a very small tarfile. So it would have
installed properly. As for the version: I can't tell you that. Just make
sure if you use a certain snapshot, that all your installation tarfiles are
from the same snapshot.

Yes, i selected the etc.tgz during installation.
And during the process, the installation of etc was vey fast ? Was it
really installed?
Is it a problem due to the version i used (a preview from november
1999)?
