Does "lsof" show anything running with the tty open?

Running I/O modems really sucks because any little program that keeps
a descriptor to the tty open (even if the program never intends to do
I/O to it) will burn you.  Its so much simpler just to use a dial-in
terminal concentrator box (like the MAX) that sends your packets to
the computer over an ethernet.
