  If you use X it might be a good idea to start off with gcombust from
the packages collection, which provides a nice GUI frontend to mkisofs,
mkhybrid, cdrecord, and cdlabelgen ...

  For audio CDs you need to read the tracks from the source CD first
(using cdd, for example), then you can burn these tracks.  For data CDs
you can read the image directly from the source CD.
