G'day,

has someone managed to get Vuegoscan 620S scanner to work on NetBSD?
I am using a Tekram DC390 scsi-interface as the ACARD AEC6710D, which
came with the scanner, isn't supported by NetBSD. The DC390 works fine
with my harddisks.

NetBSD detects the scanner correctly and attaches it to /dev/ss0. I've
also created a link from /dev/scanner to /dev/ss0 as described in the
documentation. The snapscan backend appeared to be the closest match,
since it supports the Vuegoscan 310S scanner. Nevertheless, I've tried
all others backends just to be sure but didn't make any progress.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who is using the snapscan
backend in general and/or Vuegoscan 620S in particular.

System-Info: NetBSD-1.4.1, sane-1.0.1, gimp-1.0, Vuegoscan 620S,
             Tekram DC390 host adaptor.

Many thanks in advance

cheerio Berndt
