I'm running NetBSD-1.4.1, i386, on a system with a SoundBlaster AWE64 card.
The sound card has been configured into the kernel at port 0x220, IRQ 5,
DRQ 1, DRQ2 5; during boot, sb1 is installed with these settings, and
audio0 is installed on top of that. So the hardware configuration
*appears* to be okay.

I then installed the rplay-3.2.0b6 binary from the NetBSD packages
collection. When I run rplayd in debug mode, then use rplay to play an
audio file (tried both .au and .wav formats), the debug output makes it
look like rplay is working:

rplayd: warning: cannot open /usr/pkg/etc/rplay.conf
rplayd: creating cache directory `/tmp/rplay.cache'
rplayd: warning: cannot open /usr/pkg/etc/rplay.servers
rplayd: audio: bits=8 sample-rate=8000 channels=1 format=ulaw volume=0
port-mask=2
rplayd: timer: rate=10, bufsize=800
rplayd: authentication enabled
rplayd: clay.slc.ut.us rplayd 3.2.0b6 ready.
rplayd: entering idle mode
rplayd: 127.0.0.1 client connection established
rplayd: 127.0.0.1 command="info sound=/usr/local/lib/xboing/sounds/boing.au"
rplayd: /usr/local/lib/xboing/sounds/boing.au not in hash table
rplayd: loading local file /usr/local/lib/xboing/sounds/boing.au
rplayd: boing.au input=file bits=8 sample-rate=8000 channels=1 samples=2861
format=ulaw byte-order=big-endian
rplayd: 127.0.0.1 client connection closed
rplayd: 127.0.0.1 play /usr/local/lib/xboing/sounds/boing.au
rplayd: flushing /dev/audio
rplayd: flushing /dev/audio
rplayd: closing /dev/audio
rplayd: cleaning up sounds
rplayd: cleaning up buffers - 8192 bytes
rplayd: entering idle mode
rplayd: entering idle mode

... but I don't hear anything. (Actually, I'm not even sure rplayd is
working; there are no errors in these messages, but it doesn't mention
sending the sound file to /dev/audio either.)

Any ideas on what might be wrong?
