The best rule for new ports is "don't talk, do," unless you hear (from
a posting like yours) that you're likely to be duplicating somebody
else's efforts.

Then, when your port is working, (or close enough to it that other
people can reasonably help out), send mail to core@netbsd.org asking
for help getting it integrated, etc.
