A migration guide from NT to Unix would make a lot of people's lives easier.
I know a lot of people just hire a consultant (plug plug), but a central FAQ
on this would be great.

Try 'netstat -nr' to suppress name lookups, and similarly, 'ping -n'.  You
probably have name service problems.
