it's not really on it - dialup.  not even ethernet in the house.

it froze once last night, when i was not in X and recompiling kexpress and =
kicq simultaneously.  (but then it ran fine for a couple of hours, =
finished the compiling and then recompiled recompiled -again-, while i =
worked without X.)  No such prompt appeared.

i'll try that reconfig, see if it catches anything :)
