XFree86 3.3.3.1 which is included in 1.4 doesn't support multiple
video cards. There are commercial servers (by Xi graphics
<http://www.xig.com> and MetroLink
<http://www.metrolink.com/metrox/ess.html>) which support multiple
video cards with some cards. 

Multiple card support will also be in XFree86 4.0.
