actually i'd suggest staying away from the 2920 cards. Last i'd heard the
card was using PIO rather than DMA to do its data transfers. Say goodbye to
your CPU cycles.

The SCSI adapters supported are listed in the INSTALL file for each
version of NetBSD. The 2920 is not mention in the file for 1.3.3.
It does not seem to be in 1.4_ALPHA either.

Adaptec AHA-2x4x[U][W] cards are definitely supported, and we use them
here to good effect. If you wish to stick with Adaptec, a 2940AU
would probably be a good current choice to replace a 2920.

If that seems too pricey ($150 or so), I'd suggest a Symbios Logic
(NCR) 53C8xx based card. You might be able to pick up a 53C810 card
such as the Tekram DC-310 for < US$50, or (perhaps better?) a 53C875
based card like the Tekram DC390F for <US$80. http://www.pricewatch.com
is one place to search for mailorder pricing on parts.

Warning: check what SCSI connector style(s) you need carefully;
different cards use different connectors, especially the external
connector. In particular, the DC390F has a 68pin (wide) external
connector.
