  Yes, my path is set correctly.  I can run hanterm once the session is
started, but I can't get it to start automatically from the .xsession 
file on starting the session.  

Also I do have the #!/bin/sh at the top of the .xsession file and the user
starts in the csh shell according to the passwd file.  Should the shell
that the user starts with be the same as the one in the .xsession and 
xinitrc files?
I've been starting X with the startx command and using xinitrc to start
the session.  xinitrc always had the #!/bin/sh at the top of the file, but
I never had trouble starting all the programs listed in the xinitrc file
before.  

  Any other ideas what the problem might be?
