  Hmm, to me this seems like a more generic problem.  Gimp and SANE
depend on gtk+1.0.4, while other packages (imlib, gnome-libs) depend on
gtk+1.1.2, which conflicts with gtk+1.0.4.

  So what is the recommended procedure to run, say Gimp and SANE
together with Gnome?
