Between Erik and Eric I got this:

Exactly, it wasn't found and yes, /sbin/halt worked.

Yeah, I had editted the /etc/group correctly, but my su is aliased to "su
-m" (don't know if that makes a difference). At any rate I added /sbin to
my path, so I'm all set.
