I have installed the NetBSD via FTP and it works, so I assume my network
interface card is working. (Wrong !)

But after installation I just cant access to the network via my =
interface
card. I have problems every time I try to access to the network (other =
host
on the LAN), including ping, ftp, telnet etc etc. But I could ping to
itself (NetBSD box) and telnet into local host !

the error message if I try to ping other hosts is as follow

date/time hostname /netbsd : ne2 : device time out.
date/time hostname /netbsd : ne2 : device time out.

the file /etc/ifconfig.net contains as follow

192.168.100.2 netmask 0xffffff00

and the result of < ifconf ne2 >

ne2 : flags =3D 8863 <UP, BROADCAST, NOTRAILERS, RUNNING, SIMPLEX, =
MULTICAST>
mtu 1500
media: manual
inet 192.168.100.2 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.100.255

and the result of < route show >

Internet :

Destination Gateway Flags
default 192.168.100.1 UG
localhost 127.0.0.1 UH
192.168.100.0 link#1 U
192.168.100.1 link#1 UH
<hostname> 0:40:5:61:87:37 UH

I cannt see any obious prblems with routing or inteface configuration.

A few things that come into my mind is my NIC, is ISA PnP card (NE2000
compitibale ones) and I think there is some problem with IRQ and base
address and similar such like (together with PnP BIOS). Is there any
utility to see and setup ISA PnP cards in NetBSD, and how do I update =
the
device driver file for ne2 ?

Please let me have any info thanks.

Thanks

Ayewin
