Others have mentioned newer Netscape options, but I'd just like to put
in a plug for Chimera-2 (currently at rev a14), available at

ftp://ftp.cs.unlv.edu/pub/chimera-alpha/chimera-2.0a14.tar.gz

It may well have bugs, and doesn't do Java or other such stuff, but
it's also an awful lot smaller and faster than Netscape.

There's also amaya at www.w3.org, which apparently does do java, but
I've not tried it myself.
