	When asking for help of this sort (so to speak ;), you really
ought to provide sources or snippets, so people can have some idea of what
your doing. Second, this is more likely C releated than NetBSD related, so
you might want to take it and post it in the newsgroup comp.lang.c, or
consult the FAQ there.
