Hi there,

(apologies if this should have gone to the sparc list but that sounded more
development oriented)

Im just trying to install netbsd/sparc 1.2.1 on bunch of diskless booting
sun4/110's. Very rarely they boot up (and usually fail later on because
of some random silly mistake on my behalf), but 99% of the time they say -

Using IP address 132.146.213.222 = 8492D5DE
Boot: ie(0,0,0)
Booting from tftp server at 132.146.213.76 = 8492D54C
Downloaded 29384 bytes from tftp server.

>> NetBSD BOOT [$Revision: 1.4 $]
Using IP Address 132.146.213.222 = 8492D5DE
boot: client IP address: 132.146.213.222
boot: client name: eris
arp: no response for 132.146.213.76

Thats it.

The server machine is a 4/670 running solaris 2.5.1. Its /etc/dfs/dfstab
shares the right directories -

share -F nfs -o ro=cthulu:eris /usr/diskless/usr.netbsd
share -F nfs -o rw=cthulu /usr/diskless/cthulu
share -F nfs -o rw=eris /usr/diskless/eris

(Cthulu is another machine that fails in exactly the same way)

and /etc/bootparams is OK as far as I can see -
cthulu root=colonelk:/usr/diskless/cthulu/root swap=/usr/diskless/cthulu/swap
eris root=colonelk:/usr/diskless/eris/root swap=/usr/diskless/eris/swap

rpc.bootparamd is running, as is in.rarpd
In the clients directories root is a directory with all the usual gubbins,
and swap is a file made with dd (as per the diskless(8) man page from the
NetBSD 1.2.1 man tar file).

Can anyone see where Ive gone wrong?
Thanks for any help,
Lauren
