Subject: Bug in crontab(1)? (was: cron[73]: (apac) ORPHAN...)

I did some testing and found the following:

The command

 | roor@peti:~$ crontab -e -u apache

gives me the log entry:

 | Jun 27 11:01:33 peti crontab[6180]: (root) BEGIN EDIT (apac)

and when I save the tab file, it is indeed created for the user 'apac'
and not 'apache'.

When I do the following, though,

 | apache@peti:~$ crontab -e

as user 'apache', it works just fine.

It seems like crontab(1) has a bug with the -u option.
