Hmmm, I'm using "RiscBSD", more exactly NetBSD/arm32. I don't think the
bootloader can do it like you said (but there is another way).

Someone pointed out another solution, which works without rebooting:
kill 1 -1, which will switch to single user (hope I remembered that 
correctly).
