A few days before, I asked for help because of core dumps with huge packages
on NetBSD/i386. Somebody told me about signals 11 (which I actually am
receiving), and that this would indicate a memory (cache) problem. As I am
a lucky man :^^) I could replace (for testing) almost everything in that
computer (ALR Business Veisa 486/33); there are two things I couldn't: the
BIOS (I couldn't find another one, but ALR says this is the last version),
and of course the HD (IDE, 1GB). Before I ran Windows 3.11, then Windows 95,
then Linux 1.2.13 and now NetBSD-1.1

The test package is gcc-2.7.2; the first stage compiles fine, the second
produces a core dump with a temporary utilitie (genattr), which worked
fine in former usages. All kind of hardware combinations is reacting the like.
The other pack I wanted to compile is XFree86; it was hanging in a similar
point, but I didn't repeat the tries for each configuration.

There is another very strange thing, I also mentioned earlier: I've set up
the IF configuration so the computer is responding to several IP addresses.
Each first ifconfig command including `alias' produces a `file exists' error
message, while the second does not and works fine?

Is there anything else I could try? This computer is permanently conected
to Internet. If anybody thinks he/she could help me entering this box
directly, even as root, I think I could manage it.

Thanks.
