I have tried the original source, the FreeBSD port (I had to hack it a   
bit)
and I either, never get it to compile. or (as in the FreeBSD case) I   
can't
get it to play.

With the FreeBSD port, I got the app up, but when I tried to play, I got
nothing.  The app sees the CD-ROM and tries to access it, but I just   
can't
get it to work.
