Thanks for your help. My install problem was indeed a termination 
problem. I disconnected the internal drive (terminated) and the "root 
scan" when fine. This brings back memories of other GVP controller setups 
I was aquainted with. The only way these systems would boot is if all 
termination were removed. Well, SCSI is an art not a science.
