Ls has the feature -F, which marks files by putting a special
character at the end, / for a directory, * for an executable, and @
for a link. This has the advantage of working on almost all
terminals.

The color thing is amusing, but I wonder how it works? Are they using
ANSI codes, or what? Ideally, it should only do things that are
suggested/allowed by the termcap.

BTW, anyone out there ever worked up a graphic interface for termcap,
printcap, etc.? Or for that matter, any of the files that sys admins
have to fool with?
