I agree with this, and I don't think you'll find many who disagree, but
it should be noted that nothing is preventing anyone from getting the
sources for the colorized ls and building/running them on their machine.

> man ls, note what -F does, then use alias.

Not quite the same thing--especially if you're used to the colors.
