First question am i reinventing the wheel here?  

I was a bit unimpressed with the screen blanking that came with X (if i 
am just stupid and need to reconfigure something to get nifty 
screensavers lemme know)

so i grabbed the xscreensaver source from ftp.x.org

i have successfully compiled quite a few other packages from that site.

If anyone knows anything specific that NetBSD needs to compile it let me 
know, otherwise I'll take a meat cleaver to the source and have a go at 
making it work.
