Oops.

My drive gives hard errors and funny noises when I try to operate it. I
can boot single-user and use csh (but not sh) to get to a prompt. I also
can use a second drive to get the system up. What I would like to do is
recover parts of my disk, and then replace the drive. Is there any way for
me to tell which parts of the drive are going to give my hard errors
without just trying them - and is there a way for me to access specific
sectors in order to test which ones are bad? Man, I am in a pretty big
hole for this one, I can see. :(
