I have an internal modem sitting on COM2 which NetBSD recognises
very nicely. The kernal has been compiled with IRQ 3, etc.
I can use a shell to echo commands to /dev/tty01 and the modem
responds correctly. Likewise, printf() works.
My /etc/ttys has something very similar to (going by memory here)
tty01 "getty ... 57600" dialup off local
But when I try to use cu:
#cu -l tty01 -57600 -x all
(open port)
(connected)
(waiting, so I type any character and it returns:)
"cu: fconn_write ... I/O error"
(close port)
Does anyone have any suggestions where I should be looking?
Conf: Dell Dimension XPSP90, 2 X WD HD, NetBSD 1.0 as distributed,
pseudo-device sl 2
pseudo-device ppp
It is interesting to note that cu <system> where <system> is
defined in /etc/remote according to remote(5) returns a host(?)
unknown error, or something similar indicating that the lookup
failed.
Gary
P.S. Is there a NetBSD-specific FAQ or another resource I could
be looking at besides the 386bsd* FAQ/man pages?
