Dear sirs,

I have just compiled the XFree86-3.1 distribution on my NetBSD-1.0 Beta
system. Everything seems to work fine except that for some reason, my
xterms are not updating or redrawing properly.

For example, I will move a window over an xterm, then move it away, and
the part that was covered does not redraw back to white. It just stays
in a dark grey color, instead of coming back to white. This also happens
when I use "more" to display a text file. The text seems to be all
highlighted with a dark grey color, but the rest of the empty space
remains white.

The problem can't be seen if I use reverse video xterms, but that doesn't
really solve the problem, it only covers it. This also happens when I
move a window over xclock. The part of the clock that was covered stays
grey, and does not redraw to the default white color.

I tried to recompile just the xterm program, but that didn't solve the
problem. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks for any responses.
