Hi all,

Some time ago Jan talked about making two guide branches, one for 1.6.x
and one for 2.0. Originally I was not charmed by the idea, but IMHO it
would be a good moment to do this. NetBSD 2.0 is slowly approaching. And
if 2.0 is released there will probably two groups of users, one group want
the latest and the greatest and use 2.0, some other users might consider
1.6.x a bit longer, because it is more tried and tested. The reasons I see
for branching are:

* The 2.0-specific content is growing, these days there is chap-cgd and
chap-whatsnew. And I think there is no reason to believe the amount of 2.0
won't grow.
* In my opinion chap-exinst should be removed for 2.0, it is old and will
be confusing for 2.0 users, but the chapter can be handy for 1.6.x.

Any comments?

With kind regards,
Daniel de Kok
