As a better and more reproducible data point...
Starting from NetBSD 9.5 using
<https://nycdn.NetBSD.org/pub/arm/NetBSD-9.5-release/NetBSD-9-earmv7hf--nanopi-neo.img.gz>
from armbsd.org I can confirm that emac is working, using out of the
box configuration completely unchanged it was able to get an IP address
via DHCP:
# ifconfig emac0
emac0: flags=0x8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
capabilities=3f00<IP4CSUM_Rx,IP4CSUM_Tx,TCP4CSUM_Rx,TCP4CSUM_Tx>
capabilities=3f00<UDP4CSUM_Rx,UDP4CSUM_Tx>
enabled=0
ec_capabilities=1<VLAN_MTU>
ec_enabled=0
address: f2:00:xx:xx:xx:xx
media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex,flowcontrol,rxpause,txpause)
status: active
inet6 fe80::98a5:53e1:19eb:c45c%emac0/64 flags 0x0 scopeid 0x1
