>Organization:
The NetMDNSD Foundation
>Environment:
NetBSD nanocons.local 10.0_BETA NetBSD 10.0_BETA (GENERIC64) #3: Tue Jan 17 16:42:00 UTC 2023 root@manticore.local:/usr/obj/10/evbarm64/sys/arch/evbarm/compile/GENERIC64 evbarm
>Description:
On a small local network with a dozen hosts, mdnsd routinely swells to hundreds of megabytes of RSS until it is nixed by the oom-killer (although the oom-killer often picks other victims like all the shell commands run by /etc/daily).

With the volume of data it processes in this scenario, it should really be limited to a few hundred kilobytes.
>How-To-Repeat:
Leave mdnsd running on a network with a few other machines and use .local hostnames.
>Fix:
Yes, please!
