$ WSKBD=/dev/wskbd0 /usr/pkg/bin/mlterm-wscons
works without keymap problem for me.
I have no special knowledge about this kind of things.
However I sometimes want Linux's evdev support for NetBSD.
I have heard that FreeBSD implements Linux's evdev.
