 it definiately feels like it got slower sometime in the last
 6mo-2 years.  it sure didn't take 10s of seconds to reboot
 because unmounting root took so long before:
 
 [ 2943701.7107086] unmounting 0xffff00000065b000 / (/dev/ld4a)...
 [ 2943725.4316875] unmounting done
 
 this was just now, on a system up ~34 days.
 
 
 i'll see if i can reproduce this on a system with both netbsd-9
 and -current installed.
