 The difference that kills it (vs GENERIC) is options DIAGNOSTIC.
 
 If you uncomment that in vax/conf/GENERIC that kernel fails with the same
 error.
 
 Can we switch back to 5.4 untill this is fixed? Krister, there is
 an upstream bug report, any chance to have a look?
