 You were right to be suspicious.  For some reason hardly any of the
 headers under /usr/include were updated when I ran
 
 build.sh install=/
 
 I've installed the new audioio.h by hand, rebuilt timidity, and can
 now hear glorious polyphony :-).  Thank you for the fix, and sorry for
 the false alarm.
 
 This bug can now, as far as I am concerned, be closed.
