 I have seen that when the machine had trouble talking to the disk, a
 full reset usualy fixed that (but later I replaced the drive due to SMART
 failurs and haven't seen it again since then).
 
 Is this reprducable for you? Does it happen always on boot? Did the device/
 disk combo work before?
