   |  1.196 - 1.198 were broken (hint from kre)
 
 That is 1.96 .. 1.98 (inclusive), 1.99 is current, and without that bug.
 
 While I am here, apologies to everyone who got bitten by that bug for
 the period it was there, it was an example of extreme stupidity,
 (about the dumbest code ever written - conditionally set a variable,
 and then initialise it to 0 just after...)
