 A similar problem when connecting only with HDMI has been observed on
 a desktop machine with a Sapphire Radeon HD5570 graphics card and
 NetBSD 7 RC2, sources updated through

 The machine locks up completely immediately after trying to startx Xfce4.
 
 On the same machine there was no problem connecting via HDMI using
 NetBSD 7.99.20, X11_TYPE=native, or various other BSDs.
