 Update: after the timeout fixes last night, the situation is much
 better. However, I still saw one case of a black rectangle.
 
 (Actually, a line (of cells) in a list of cells (gnucash) was
 misplaced by a few pixels and mostly blacked out.)
 
 But much better than before!
