 Well, it works for me (both on netbsd-6 and current), I use it a lot,
 basically daily.
 
 So we may need a bit more details from your setup - you are using the
 "cu" from base (/usr/bin/cu)? Have you tried doing it as root? Can you
 show the device nodes in question (i.e. ls -l /dev/ttyU0 or similar)?
