   It looks like postinstall now does etc/defaults/pkgpath.conf, and
 I guess etcupdate would automatically take care of /etc/pkgpath.conf,
 so both should be covered now.  As to the issue of whether the files
 should exist, I'd say they've been around long enough now that it
 seems too late to reconsider it.  So I suggest just closing the PR.
