Hi,
I now finally came around to booting 5.2 on the lab machine, and
there it worked fine. So it looks like the failure I experienced
on that other IBM 306m is a sign of old age of the hardware.
For the record, I attach the dmesg of the lab 306m.
I guess we can just close this PR as a hardware fault.
