System: NetBSD daemon.corp.trizetto.com 6.0_BETA2 NetBSD 6.0_BETA2 (GENERIC)
i386
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:
After leaving a core2duo box with integrated graphics running and compiling
pkgsrc packages all night, I attempted to start X11. I had already started it
once when the machine first
booted and it worked fine. Then I came back about 12 hours later and restarted
X11. The framebuffer output was corrupted with blinking boxes colors, followed
by a reboot about 10 seconds
later (I assume the delay was for the crash dump to be written). I have core
dumps and what not to aid in the diagnosis.

>How-To-Repeat:
Restart X11 multiple times on a core2 box with i915 graphics. Eventually, the
kernel will panic and dump core.

>Fix:
The only workaround I'm aware of is to reboot and start X11 immediately after
the system boots. Then don't cycle X11 afterwards.
