 If there are any errors from the cd(4) driver in dmesg after attempting
 to 'play' they might be useful to see.
 
 Also, please provide output from 'scsictl cd0 identify'.
 
 Does running 'play' after 'digital' in cdplay(1) work?
 
 I suspect that newer optical drives may no longer implement analog 
 playback.
