 I just applied this patch and attempted to rebuild qemu.  The build made 
 it to a different file: before, it always hung in libhw32/hda-audio.o 
 but now it got stuck in the file after this one.
 
 However, the system is stuck (as it used to do before) and there is no 
 panic :-/  I'll keep trying -- maybe we are hitting two different issues 
 here.
