 On the machines where it was randomly working for root but not
 otherwise, I don't think so, but I can't check them at the moment.  I
 was logging in as either root or non-root from the console and
 checking the behavior, and I haven't tinkered with root's dotfiles.
 
 However, elsewhere, enabling emacs as well as tabcomplete does cause
 tab completion to start working; so at least it's not totally broken.
