 The "smbfs" in NetBSD 5.0.1 is seriously "EXPERIMENTAL" as mentioned
 in "man 4 options". I would recommend *not* to use it.
 
 You can try a "netbsd-5" snapshot which will contain a lot of bug-fixes
 (one of them should fix your panic). There might however still be some
 problems left.
 
 There are more bug-fixes to "smbfs" in NetBSD-current which haven't
 been backported (because it is difficult due to unrelated changes).
